As much as we enjoy coaching and mentoring others towards living more inspired lives themselves, we don't want to miss any of the fun either.
This page provides links to some of the other adventures and side projects we're involved in or connected to.
Corporate Rockstar
The Corporate Rockstar is an epic audio drama series that relays the tale of a misplaced rock star who finds himself stuck in a 9-5 office job. Unable to fully make sense of his surroundings, he sticks to what he knows - treating his job as if it were a rock concert in which he is the main act.
Join the immensely likable but definitey irreverent Corporate Rockstar as brings a bit of rock n roll back to the workplace - in between getting repeatedly fired, hired and fired again. Nothing gets him down and he might just inspire a few lives, if not workplaces, along the way.
Corporate Rockstar's emphasis is definitely on entertainment, but beneath the layers you'll find some thoughtful observations and commentary regarding the corporate lives we lead. Who said ROCK wasn't deep! This series draws its inspiration from a fond appreciation of the 1950s era radio dramas, an extensive experiential education in the history of rock music, and a wealth of observations about the bizarre nature of modern corporate bureaucracy. Enjoy.
World Domination Collective
The World Domination Collective is a local boardgame club based in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. The group together once a month for an evening of utter madness to cap off a long hard working week by either saving or destroying the known universe.
To date they've staved off zombie invasions too numerous to mention, the occasional greedy and unscrupulous business tycoon, survived high-speed Formula 1 crashes, thwarted the invading hordes of hell, and - most recently - saved the country from an outbreak of oversized reptiles that were bent on tearing city streets and buildings apart as they ruthlessly devoured the innocent meeples cowering inside.
The club is sponsored by Inspired Lives with the aim of bringing some genuine social interaction back to the local community, trading the individual addiction of the digital world for face-to-face fun and laughter. The group have run a number of open events in local communities, including school fundraising activties and open-invite family boardgame afternoons.
Join the revolution and see if it inspires you to be part of something similar in your neighbourhood.
The Local
The Local is a community organisation that Carl actively supports (including serving as Chair of the Aotearoa Foundation, the charitable trust that overseas the activities and funding of The Local).
The Local runs a community co-op volunteer cafe, providing low-cost lunchtime meals, Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. The cafe is run by volunteers from the local neighbourhood, providing real-life work experience opportunities and training with the aim of supporting those with less advantaged backgrounds into paid employment opportunities.
As well as being home to The Local church, an informal dialogue-based faith community, they also host a variety of community events - ranging from school holiday programmes, to camping trips, boardgame afternoons, community barbeques, and open mic nights to name a few.
Their primary aim is to help promote and support connection and community in the local neighbourhood.
